THE BIG LUNCH – Sunday July 5 10.30am – 4.00pm Wilton Shopping Village.

A “Foodraising” Event – A FREE family day out.

The Big Lunch, a sharing get together, supporting charity food banks, was started in 2009 at the Eden Project in Cornwall and has since spread to millions of people around the country.

>Wilton’s first BIG LUNCH was held in the Community Centre and Parish Church and in 2013 it was moved to the Shopping Village, as part of the Carnival in 2014. Following the success of last year’s event, Wilton Carnival and the Wilton Town Team are staging The Wilton Big Lunch Family Picnic again this year on Sunday July 5, the day after the Carnival, at Wilton Shopping Village. There will music and entertainments and a free bouncy castle from Jumparoo. The day starts off at 10.30am with a United Church Service led by Wilton Baptist Church and is followed by “Half of Murphy’s” folk duo, the wonderful Amici Singers and a surprise pianist! All held in a big marquee and the Village has all facilities and free parking.

Everyone is encouraged to bring their own picnic lunches, and some non-perishable foods to donate to the Salisbury Trussell Trust Food Bank. They especially want tinned fish, long life fruit juice, and powered milk. For those who wish to eat out there will be a restaurant, café, licensed bar and teas available on site, plus all the usual shops at the Village.
