Thousands of happy visitors flocked to Wilton Shopping Village on Saturday 4th July for a sun soaked free fun afternoon at Wilton Community Carnival. The weather smiled on Wilton and everyone enjoyed the stalls, children’s entertainments, live music and happy atmosphere of the Carnival. The day started with a procession through the town with a Hollywood theme, led by 16 Wiltshire Mayors, and among the winners were The Happy Flappers, 1st Wilton Scouts, Salisbury Gymnastics, little Leo Reed and Kingfisher Montessori.
The afternoon continued with a variety of live music in two marquees, plenty of entertainments, food and drink and a host of interesting stalls and the delights of the Shopping Village shops. Gary Nunn, Chairman of the Carnival said “We were overwhelmed with the amount of people who came to see us and delighted with the whole day. It makes the past year’s work all worthwhile and this is my 10th Carnival which has become the biggest community event in Wilton.”
