The 2014 Wilton Community Carnival is back at the Wilton Shopping Village for 2014 and will be held on Saturday 5th July from 12.30pm – 5.00pm.
The Carnival Procession has also been re-instated and will leave from the Community Centre in West Street at 12.30pm and make its way through the Town to the back of the Shopping Village Car Park and the theme this year will be “Heroes and Heroines”. The Procession will be led by Wiltshire Mayors and the exciting “Casa de Samba” drum band and lots of themed walking floats.
At the Shopping Village, the Fire Station will again have their “Open Day” with fire engines to see, teas and a car boot sale. The Scouts will be supplying their famous BBQ and there will be the magnificent horse and wagonette rides and classic vehicles. In the Village itself, there will be over 30 stalls, duck races, food and “Bear” Bar, fairground rides and games, and plenty for children. These will include bouncy castle, slide, didi cars, ice creams, sweets, candy floss, and face painting.
There will be a special children’s show with Punch and Judy and Wacky the Wizard and live bands for everyone in the music marquee. These include Wilton and District Youth Band; Justie the Piano Man; The Frenzied and the Diligent Band and Salisbury favourite The Hop Back Blues Band. In the marquee in New Square, there will be Casa de Samba Band; dancers and winners of procession and Wilton in Bloom competitions All this and shopping as well, a FREE family day out, it will be another unique fun afternoon.
