The popular annual Wilton Community Carnival is on course for a really exciting, different FREE family fun day at The Wilton Shopping Village on Saturday July 6.

It starts as soon as you get into the car park of the Shopping Village where the Fire Station are holding an Open Day with teas, two fire engines and a car boot sale. The Scouts will be serving their famous BBQ and the Police will have a car and stand. The Wessex Carnival Display Bus will also be there.

In the Village itself, in addition to all the usual shopping delights, tea rooms and restaurant, there will be lots of Carnival attractions. These include table stalls, duck races, a music marquee with live bands all afternoon, dance display marquee, The Colton Dancers, knights in armour, Salisbury Fencing Club and a licensed bar. At 1.30pm there will be fancy dress parade for children and adults, with a theme of “Shopping” but anyone in costume will be welcome. For the children there are many activities with Punch and Judy, circus workshop, balloon clown, window competition, bouncy castle, slides and rides, arts and crafts fun, tiny tots area, didi cars, space hoppers, face painting, ice creams and the Minster Street play park!  The Tennis and Bowls Clubs will host open days inviting people to have a go, so there really is something for everyone.

Wilton Shopping Village is open from 9.30am – 5.30pm and the Carnival events run from 1.00pm – 5.30pm.
